Do I need any prior knowledge to take this course?
Yes. The course is designed for professionals already working with PHPP. To get the most out of the training, it is recommended that you: have prior experience using PHPP; have obtained Passivhaus Designer or Passivhaus Consultant accreditation; and have a valid PHPP software license.
What software is used during the course?
During the course you will work with the tools used in professional Passivhaus projects: PHPP 10 – official energy calculation tool DesignPH – SketchUp plugin for 3D modeling FLIXO – advanced software for calculating thermal bridges The course includes access to a temporary FLIXO license.
Does the course include a practical project?
Yes. To complete the course, each student must develop an individual energy modeling project using PHPP. The project will consist of the complete modeling of a commercial building, applying the knowledge acquired during the course. This project is a requirement to be eligible to take the official exam.
Is there an official exam at the end of the course?
Yes. The course prepares students to take the official PHPP Expert exam from the Passive House Institute (PHI), an international accreditation that certifies advanced knowledge of PHPP software. The exam assesses the professional's ability to: correctly input data into PHPP; model complex buildings; and analyze and optimize a building's energy performance.
How long is the PHPP Expert course?
The course has a total duration of 48 hours of training, divided into: 24 hours of face-to-face classes and 24 hours of individual work for the development of the final project.
Where does the course take place?
The course is taught in person in Burgos, in a Passivhaus certified building, which allows for the analysis of real construction solutions and working in a practical learning environment.
How many places are available?
The course is conducted in small groups of approximately 15 students, allowing for more personalized learning and direct interaction with the teaching staff.
