Client : Private

Architect : Fernando Vega Provecho

Building Typology : Holiday Dwelling

Passivhaus Consultant : Henar Arranz & Diego Martinez

Project Overview :

Slow Leon tourist apartments is a four-storey building with a basement located in the UNESCO-protected Old Town of León, just 200 meters from the homonymous cathedral. This is the first Passivhaus hotel in Castilla y León. The timber frame eco-building has been industrialised in a workshop and executed on a plot with highly complex access due to narrow streets and traffic limitations. With a height of almost 15 meters, it is one of the tallest timber buildings newly erected in Spain.

Each of the four apartment units features a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a seating area with a sofa, a flat-screen TV, a washing machine, and a private bathroom equipped with a shower and a hairdryer. A microwave, a fridge and an oven are also featured, as well as a kettle and a coffee machine.
